Transaction monitor Insurancemarket H2-2023: Full throttle into the new year
The Transaction Monitor Insurance Market H2-2023 shows that the prices currently being paid in the market for intermediary companies vary significantly. We observe a positive correlation between the size of businesses and their corresponding valuations
The transactions in non-listed companies of comparable size are at an all-time high level. In the past year, multiples of 15 - 20 times EBITDA have even been achieved in some transactions. Buyers seem willing to incorporate a significant portion of the expected strategic value into the price. What is noticeable, however, is the difference in transaction prices between bilateral and competitive sale processes. In competitive processes, higher multiples are paid, and we see more favorable balance settlements for the seller.
